Back to the double digit weeks and to be honest, I feel a bit unlucky not to get more. I really don’t know what is going on with Sunderland but fair play to them they are absolutely flying, until I decide pick them of course. Villa beating City just shows what an excellent run of form they are on, I really thought that would be a draw but in fairness it was a match that could have gone either way. And then Millwall Leicester, I just don’t understand how Leicester are starting this bad with the team they have. Hey ho, another decent week and we’re back on track.

Well, I think I’ll calmly wipe the sweat off my brow after that one. All my picks were decided by 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 80 minutes into those 3 p.m. kick-offs I looked set for -10. Kieran had already started chirping in the group chat and things were looking bleak. That was until Bruno G scored a 90th-minute winner for Newcastle. You can imagine the look on Kieran and Wills’ faces when, a minute after that, Luke Berry scored an equaliser for Charlton, leaving me on 8 points for the week!

Mind you, Will was happy with that, as he copied my winning draw prediction for the second week in a row. Also, the less said about Sunderland, the better. On to next weekend!

Bolton 1-0 Cardiff (BIG BET) - Draw (0pts)
Ipswich 1-0 West Brom - Home (3pts)
Portsmouth 0-1 Stoke - Draw (0pts)
Chelsea 1-2 Sunderland - Home (0pts)
Newcastle 2-1 Fulham - Home (3pts)
Hull 1-1 Charlton - Draw (5pts)

Wow I can’t believe Bolton scored in the final minute of the game to rob me of 10 points in the big bet, must say great finish from Cozier-Duberry. Chelsea losing to Sunderland at home was supposed to be an easy 3pts and the 3 us of all thought the same but Chelsea decided not to defend for the late winner for Sunderland.

As a whole 3 out 6 last week giving me 11pts and yet again another week of double digit points. Kieran and I managed to claw 3 vital points back on Schoey to cut his lead down.

Gameweek 11 Picks

Kieran

Liverpool vs Aston Villa (BIG BET) - Home
Right. Liverpool rested quite a few players midweek by the sounds of it so I’m going to ignore that disastrous result and say that they are going to get a Home Win here. Villa have been in scintillating form, and I do think they could win but my gut is telling me a 96th minute dodgy Liverpool penalty to win it.

Brighton vs Leeds - Draw
Brighton are better than their position, I truly believe that. I think the time will come for the bottom 6 to split off a bit from the rest, but not this week.

Sheffield United vs Derby - Home
Sorry Alfie, I think the Blades are going to show their strength here and although they’ve been pretty poor so far this season, I think everyone knows they’re in a very false position. At home it may just be a bit too much for Derby.

Birmingham vs Portsmouth - Home
Birmingham have shown glimpses of getting back to form and I think this is another great chance for them to show that they are a force in this league.

Charlton vs Swansea - Draw
After a big result midweek, Swansea travel to high flying Charlton. think this game might be a bit of a hangover for both, with Swansea after the big win against Liverpool, and Charlton just for being so good starting the season something has to give. Going for a bore draw,.

Manchester City vs AFC Bournemouth - Home
A week of standard home wins for me, but I really need big points so I’m going for the Edge or Acca. Hopefully this will be one of many to give me a chance at catching Schoey.

Liverpool vs Aston Villa (BIG BET) - Draw
Well, what a full 180 both of these teams have done since the first few weeks of the season. Villa only dropping 2 points in their last 5 league games, and Liverpool only earning 3 points in the same amount of games. An away win may seems like an obvious choice here based off recent form. But Liverpool desperately need to put a stop to this run of losses. And everybody knows they have the quality to do so! I just hope for my sake this ends in a draw so I can reignite my run of Big Bet predictions after last week’s disappointment.

Brighton vs Leeds - Home
Brighton may have started slower than what is expected of them now, but I do see this as a fairly safe bet. Leeds have only picked up one away result in four, and that was against bottom of the league Wolves, whereas Brighton are undefeated at home. That’s why I’ve backed a home win.

Crystal Palace vs Brentford - Home
This is definitely more of a feeling than a stats-based pick, as Palace’s form has been pretty awful recently in comparison to Brentford. But I do think Palace have had the more difficult games recently, and they’ll be very keen to turn their recent form around. Also, like Leeds, Brentford have only picked up one away result in four, against a seriously underwhelming West Ham side.

Charlton vs Swansea - Home
This is another less well thought out pick, but more of a result I want to happen. Charlton have been flying this season and it’s been great to see. Even if they’re not winning every game, they are outperforming expectations.

It’s great to hear Charlton fan Ryan’s perspective on their great run of results on ‘The Champ This Week’ podcast. The fans are loving it and the players are full of confidence. I’d back them to pick up a result against anyone at the moment.. Except away at Coventry, of course.

Tottenham vs Chelsea - Draw
Well this game really could go either way. Chelsea were scoring for fun at the start of the season but have seemed to go off the boil a little bit. I may have even had Chelsea to win this before that disgraceful performance against Sunderland. As I’ve said before Spurs do look a much better outfit under Frank. But they seem to love playing away from home! Which of course they won’t be doing on Saturday. With both teams scoring and leaking goals recently, this should make for a very entertaining game. This one’s got BTTS written all over it.

Manchester City vs Bournemouth - Home
Bournemouth currently sit 2nd in the Premier League. What an entertaining but quite frankly ridiculous start to the Premier League season we’ve had! Man City had really started to solidify and are looking like their old selves again, with Haaland banging in goals for fun. Only to be stumped in a 1–0 loss away at Villa last weekend. But on Sunday they are back at the Etihad, and Bournemouth do have a far better home than away form. Semenyo has also been involved in 3/4 of all their goals this season, which implies they heavily rely on him. If he doesn’t show up, it could make this game very difficult for them. Especially seeing as Man City have only conceded 3 goals in the league since Donnarumma has been made their no.1

Will

Liverpool vs Aston Villa (BIG BET) - Draw
Two sides in completely polar opposite form right now but bang level on points. All the stats and form say Villa win this game and with pundits starting to ask questions about Slot’s job security it’s adding up to be a great big bet for us. I’m very much split on this one especially after Villa solid win at home to city last week. I just can’t not think about it being played at Anfield and how that will be a factor in the game. I’m going for a draw because of this.

Manchester City vs Bournemouth - Home
Bournemouth have been unbelievable so far this season and fully deserve to be sitting 2nd in the league. I think they will be undone on this fixture with Bournemouth not winning away since the start of the season and the last 4 times these teams have met has ended up with a City win.

Salisbury vs Dorking Wanderers - Away
This one just stuck out to me out of all of the lower league fixtures this weekend. I must admit I don’t know a lot of ether side but Dorking look to be having the better season so far sitting in 8th and Salisbury looking like they are struggling sitting in 22nd. I’m going for an away win on this one.

Crystal Palace vs Brentford - Home
Palaces last win at home was back in September against Liverpool and have since only picked up 1 point in October. I think they are due a win and if they want to keep up their push for a top 8 finish they need to win. Brentford are going to be a tough team to beat and will be a close match up but I’m going with a Home win.

Sheffield United vs Derby - Home
When I saw Sheffield winning 2-1 last week I thought has Wilder started to turn them around but 45 minutes they managed to bottle the chance to make it 3 wins in a row. Derby have started to put back to back home wins together to take them up a few places in the league. There’s not a lot between them but I think Sheffield will get the result they need.

Stoke vs Bristol City - Draw
Another big game in the championship with two teams battling for a top 6 finish, this one for me i just can’t split. Stoke managed to find the result last week away at Portsmouth and Bristol won narrowly against Birmingham at home. I’m going for the extra points a draw provides.
