Review
Well it’s another double points week and another Big Bet win atleast. Although not the greatest, looking at the other two’s points I’d say I actually did pretty well to come out of the unscathed. Only 9 points away from top spot now and the pressure is slowly building.
Schoey: 0 points
Picks
Sunderland 1-0 Newcastle (BIG BET) - Draw (0pts)
Liverpool 2-0 Brighton - Home (3pts)
Birmingham 1-1 Chalrton - Home (0pts)

Same shit, different week. Well if I thought it couldn’t get worse that week 16, I thought wrong. My final pick last week, Tranmere at home cost me -3. And my only correct prediction was Liverpool at home. Every other result was out by just one goal which is just great. So I finished on a depressingly whopping 0 points.
Will: 5 points
Picks
Sunderland 1-0 Newcastle (BIG BET) - Away (0pts)
Portsmouth 2-1 Blackburn - Draw (0pts)
Wrexham 2-2 Watford - Home (0pts)
Stockport 1-3 Stevenage - Home (0pts)
Birmingham 1-1 Chalrton - Home (0pts)
Brentford 1-1 Leeds - Home (5pts)
Review
Somehow I’ve managed to escape from the hall of shame again for the second week in a row. My thanks go out to Leeds and Brentford for not being able to find a winning goal and provide me 5pts this week. Seems Schoey is having a hard time as well. Only a couple weeks ago was Kieran 40 points behind now that lead has been cut to 9, getting a tad shakey for him.
Current Standings
1st) Schoey (Correct: 41, Points: 169)
2nd) Kieran (Correct: 39, Points: 149)
3rd) Will (Correct: 36, Points: 121)
Gameweek 17 Picks
Kieran
Newcastle vs Chelsea (BIG BET) - Draw
Well Newcastle were pretty dreadful last week, but in fairness they’ve been dreadful away from home all season. For that reason, and the comfortable Chelsea win against Everton, I’m going for a draw this week.
Bromley vs Grimsby - Home
I’m hoping the table doesn’t lie and the points gap is big enough that this is a pretty standard home win. When you look at the form Bromley are in aswell this should be a straight forward win for them. Going home win.
Brighton vs Sunderland - Home
I think the Big Bet win last weekend was more Newcastle being poor than Sunderland being any good. I think this week away from home it will be a completely different challenge and they may struggle. Going for a Brighton home win, but pretty worried about this one.
Sheffield United vs Birmingham - Draw
Sheffield United are pretty much back to how they should have been playing at the start of the season now that Wilder has returned, but I still think Birmingham will be a tough match, this could be a bore draw or it could be game of the weekend. Either way, I’m going for a draw in this one.
Lincoln vs Cardiff - Away
Top of the league Cardiff, a hard one to bet against really. I think they will start to stretch that points gap and go on to win the league easily now.
Fulham vs Nottingham Forest - Home
This is based purely on the fact I think Fulham are the most reliable of the two. Forest can come up with a very good result here and there but I just think at home Fulham should pull through.
Schoey
Newcastle vs Chelsea (BIG BET) - Away
Newcastle have just come off an embarrassingly poor performance against Sunderland. And Chelsea are still looking very strong. I’m sure Newcastle will suddenly decide to show up for this game though.
Wigan vs Blackpool - Home
Could be a tough one as Blackpool have blown very hot or cold recently. But Wigan have the home advantage and have gone 5 games unbeaten. It’s gonna be 1-0. Paul Mullin.
Up The Tics! COME ON!
Bromley vs Grimsby - Home
This seems the most likely pick of the week, which means it won’t come in. Bromley have a much better recent form, winning 4 of their last 5 games. They also have the home advantage as well as the best home form in League 2. 22 points out of a possible 30 at home this season. That’s nearly as impressive as the mighty Coventry City’s home record.
Hull vs West Brom - Home
I’ve said it all season and Hull continue to impress me. Where as West Brom have been very mediocre this season. And especially poor away from home. Just 9 points through 11 away games is pretty shocking for a side who should really be fighting for play-offs.
Port Vale vs Peterborough - Away
Looking at the table, both of these teams appear to be pretty crap. But Peterborough have been turning things around recently, winning 4 of their last 6 league games. Whereas Port Vale are sat bottom with the worst home form in the league. They haven’t actually won a league game since the 27th of September. And that still wasn’t at home!
Aston Villa vs Manchester United - Home
Well betting against United didn’t work for me last week, but I can’t ignore this. Villa are just in unreal form. 6 league wins in a row. 15 wins in their last 17 games in all comps. They are absolutely flying.
Will
Newcastle vs Chelsea (BIG BET) - Draw
Newcastle let me down last week and I’m sure they will want to redeem themselves after losing to their North East rivals. Chelsea managed to get back to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 win most notably Cole Palmer back on the scoresheet. I’m fully placing myself on the fence for this can’t split them and would love to see maximum points.
Wigan vs Blackpool - Home
Wigan have shown steady form lately having not losing in their last 5 league games and picking up a good point away to Huddersfield. They will be looking at this game thinking we can really push on here and put themselves up near the play off places.
Bromley vs Grimsby - Home
I think Grimsby has had their best part of the season already now. After the monumental win against a very poor Manchester United team they haven’t done too much to carry the momentum on to push for the play offs. Bromley on the other hand have been having some good performances and it shows with them currently sat in 4th.
Hull vs West Brom - Home
Hull have been fantastic this season and after last week 3-1 win away to Millwall I just think they’re go again against the Baggies and walk away with the 3pts.
Tottenham vs Liverpool - Away
I’m starting to see Liverpool turn a corner here and they have had some good results recently. They are now unbeaten in their last 5 in all matches. While Spurs just keep being Spursy, they were embarrassed to Nottingham Forest last week. Their home form for the last year has been awful, I just can’t see them getting anything from this game.
Aston Villa vs Manchester United - Home
What a run Villa are on at the moment and I 100% back them to run away with the 3pts here. I have absolutely no feeling that Man United gets anything from this game.
