Hall Of Shame and a Runaway Leader: TWITS Picks GW3
Our weekly round-up for Gameweek 2 is here, and one of us has been dreading this all week. An interesting gameweek saw two consistent performers (not necessarily in a good way), and one disaster. In this we break down a quick review of our weeks and a preview of our picks for Gameweek 3.
To start off, let’s have a look at how we got on in Gameweek 2.

Cannot believe that a late goal has cost me again! I was on for at least a better week than last before Notts County conceded in the 83rd minute. Other than that it was more of the same to be honest, 1 result out of 6, a measly 4 points and not the best start in the first two gameweeks.
However, all was not lost, I had a late saviour of the weekend seeing Will had -10 meaning I jumped up to 2nd place in the TWITS league and also missed the ‘first in the Hall Of Shame’ label. On to Gameweek 3, surely my luck has to change soon.
Schoey: 16 points…Again
Picks
Luton 0-1 Cardiff (BIG BET) - Away (9pts)
Charlton 0-1 Leicester - Away (4pts)
Bournemouth 1-0 Wolves - Home (3pts)
Brentford 1-0 Aston Villa - Away (0pts)
Bristol Rovers 1-0 Cambridge - Away (0pts)
Notts County 2-2 Bromley - Away (0pts)

A small 25 points ahead of the rest of the tipple crew after just 2 weeks.. I’ll take that.
Another big bet predicted and another 16 points! Coventry City own the CBS arena and thump QPR 7-1. What a weekend!
If I thought the weekend couldn’t get any better, I was wrong. As Will managed to get 0 picks correct, earning himself -10 points! Excellent stuff. The only negative I could take away from the weekend is that my lower league predictions were pretty off... hopefully that won’t continue in to this week!
Will: -10 points
Picks
Luton 0-1 Cardiff (BIG BET) - Home (0pts)
Brentford 1-0 Aston Villa - Away (0pts)
Preston North End 1-0 Ipswich - Away (0pts)
Bolton 1-1 Lincoln - Home (0pts)
Bristol Rovers 1-0 Cambridge - Draw (0pts)
Notts County 2-2 Bromley - Home (0pts)

Well, that didn't go as planned. Kieran and Schoey have had a field day this week making sure I know I have entered the "Hall of Shame". No excuses from me but what are Ipswich doing losing to Preston, shocking result that one.
Gameweek 3 Picks
Kieran
Liverpool vs Arsenal (BIG BET) - Away
Arsenal have started the season absolutely perfectly, a 1-0 away win at Manchester United (although not the greatest feat these days), and a 5-0 battering of newly promoted Leeds. This will be their first real test away from home at the reigning champions, but with new signing Eberechi Eze set to make his debut, I think their squad is looking strong and they should have enough to win. Saka being injured is a big blow, and I must admit I did not realise that before I had decided on this pick, but hey ho.
QPR vs Charlton – Draw
QPR come into this off of an absolute hammering against Coventry, shipping 7 goals. They will be absolutely desperate to steady the ship after that and coming up against Charlton at home is not an easy game to follow it, but also not the worst. I think they will be so desperate to not lose this they will bite your hand off for a draw. For Charlton, although they may look at this as a definite possible 3 points, a draw away from home is never a bad result.
Crewe vs Swindon - Home
Top of the league and scoring for fun, Crewe come into this having scored 2 per game, and only conceding 3 in 5. Swindon on the other hand, currently have a goal difference of 0, with 8 scored and 8 conceded. Although I think there is every possibility Swindon get a few goals, I believe Crewe’s firepower will be too much if this becomes a shootout.
Bristol City vs Hull - Home
Hull have been a strange team in their first 3 games, everyone seems to be on a high about them but I just don’t see it with the results they’ve had. Yes they are on 4 points and sit 15th, but those 4 points have come from a draw away to Coventry, and scraping a 3-2 win at home to Oxford (and I can tell you that’s not exactly impressive with how Oxford are playing). I believe that Bristol, unbeaten in 3, will have too much quality to not win this, especially at home.
Exeter vs Peterborough - Home
Peterborough bottom of the table, continuing their few years of decline since they lost in the playoff final it seems. I can’t see anything else than an Exeter win, sorry Grecians fans if I’ve just jinxed in.
Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace - Home
Maybe a bit of a risky one but I think with Palace kicking off their European campaign on Thursday they may have been a bit more focused on that than this game. I’m going for a Villa win and a start to their season.
Schoey
Liverpool vs Arsenal (BIG BET) - Draw
Liverpool certainly have the fire power but they are leaking goals. After watching Liverpool concede 2 against Newcastle from set pieces, that doesn’t really bode well when their next fixture is against the set piece kings. I think being at Anfield will help Liverpool not to lose the game, but will hopefully after 90 minutes land on a draw.
Wolves vs Everton - Away
Wolves have been dominated in their first 2 games of the season and haven’t really shown a lot to get excited about. Before Everton’s last performance against Brighton, I wouldn’t have been confident to bet either way on this game, but the introduction of Grealish to the side has clearly instilled confidence in the rest of the squad.
Nottingham Forest vs West Ham - Home
West Ham have had a pretty shocking start. They lost 3-0 to a newly promoted Sunderland side, who have since been comfortably beat by another newly promoted side in Burnley. Not only that, but were thrashed by Chelsea last weekend. I don’t see them going away to Forest with any reason to be confident.
Stoke vs West Brom - Draw
A slightly risky pick as stoke are yet to even drop a point this season. But that is party why I’m going against another win for them. I’m happy to see Robins doing well, but West Brom are a strong side and this is still Stoke we’re talking about. They’re not indestructible.
Blackpool vs Bolton - Draw
Bolton have drawn their last 3 games. So why not go for another! Blackpool have just the 3 points so far this season, but they were gained in a home win against Huddersfield. I would say Bolton are the better side, but being away I’m going to predict a draw.
Crewe vs Swindon - Home
Crewe have had a great start to the season, only dropping points away to Gillingham last weekend. Averaging 2 goals a game, they will be a handful for the leaking Swindon defence. I think while Ian Holloway’s overhaul of players still try to gel, a result away at the league leaders will be too much to ask.
Will
Liverpool vs Arsenal (BIG BET) - Draw
It’s hard to split these two teams. I wasn't impressed with Liverpool on Monday night against Newcastle, but they still managed to come away with the 3 points. Arsenal beating Leeds comfortably and showing again how dangerous they are from corners. My view is both teams will score but will end up 2-2, I just can’t decide who would get the third to take the 3pts.
Nottingham Forest vs West Ham - Home
I can't see anything other than a Forest win, West Ham are falling into disarray and it’s not looking like it’s going to be a quick fix. If Potter doesn't start to see improvements, he could be the first sacking in the Premier league. Forest will be thinking how many can we score.
Bristol City vs Hull - Home
So far both sides have had steady start to the season with Bristol just having the better one and currently unbeaten. Bristol will be looking to get back to winning ways after the previous two games finishing level. Hull on the other side being beaten comfortably 3-0 to Blackburn last weekend will want to shore up the backline. Overall, I think Bristol will have to much quality going forward.
Exeter City vs Peterborough United - Home
It’s a worrying start to the season for the Posh, with only a point on the board at the moment it’s not looking good and they will need a change of fortune. Exeter have started the season a little bit better with 2 wins from 5. I'm backing Exeter to get the win on the fact the Posh have only scored 2 goals so far and don't look to be a threat going forward.
Crewe vs Swindon - Home
Top of the league Crewe with 4 wins from 5 so far. With the Loss away at Gillingham last weekend they will be looking to get back to winning ways. Swindon left it late to beat a very poor Shrewsbury team. My thoughts are Crewe are going to cruise past Swindon very comfortably.
Barnsley vs Huddersfield - Away
Not going to be an easy game to call. Both teams have started well and are in the top 6. I'm thinking Huddersfield can come away with the 3 points here. They are on a good run of form so far, with an impressive win away to Stevenage last weekend.
