I’ll take that all day long. Could have been better of course, but could have been a whole lot worse. Continues my pretty steady form of double digit point weeks and I am slowly but surely gaining on top spot. It’s a long old season and there’s plenty of points to play for.

Schoey: 7 points

Lincoln 2-1 Doncaster - Home (3pts)

Welp. Lower league week went about as well as expected. I don’t know much about League 1 and below so my predictions were purely stats based. Well, as per usual in lower league week, stats may as well have been thrown out of the window. No big bet AGAIN! And the icing on the cake was the banker of the weekend. Tamworth, having lost 4 in a row, were away at Boreham wood, who had won 3 in a row and were sat 13 points ahead of them in the league. Of course Boreham wood had 64% possession and 13 shots but only scored 1, whereas Tamworth had 2 shots on target, but that was enough to win the game. Typical.

Will: 11 points

Picks
MK Dons 2-0 Salford (BIG BET) - Away (0pts)
Burton 1-0 Blackpool - Home (3pts)
Bromley 2-1 Barrow - Draw (0pts)
Cambridge 0-0 Barnet - Home (0pts)
Shrewsbury 1-0 Newport - Home (3pts)
Hartlepool 1-1 Wealdstone - Draw (5pts)

Review

Another average week another 3/6 correct I’ll take the 11pts and finally managing to get over the 100 point mark (taken bloody long enough). Was unlucky with the Bromley game thought I had that the draw but thanks to 88th minute that disappeared. Let alone the big bet wow really need to be getting these right missed out on to many big bet points. For the other two Twits agains nothing special from them Schoey squeaking 7pts and kieran just being bang average.

Gameweek 14 Picks

Kieran

Charlton vs Southampton (BIG BET) - Draw
First of 3 draws for me this week. I’ll confess, I didn’t really pay too much attention and by the time I’d realised it was too late to change any of them. But I have faith, Charlton are doing outstanding this year but I think a draw will be a good result for both of these teams.

Port Vale vs Plymouth - Draw
Draw no. 2. It worked for me last week with Vale vs Wycombe, I’m banking on them again to slowly get some solid form together. Should be a good game this and I expect if it does end a draw it will be with a fair few goals involved.

Brighton vs Brentford - Home
The week of gut feelings continues. A close game I think but I just feel with home advantage and a full rest from the international break, Brighton will come out on top.

Ipswich vs Wrexham - Home
Something has to give for Wrexham in my opinion, and with Ipswich showing signs of life before the International break I think this could be a bit of a trashing.

Reading vs Rotherham - Draw
The final draw. Two teams I haven’t been following too much but I just feel it’s going to be a bore draw. Again, this whole week is based very much on feeling not any statistical analysis… so don’t come for me when Reading win 4-0.

Leeds vs Aston Villa - Away
Easy one for me this, I think Villa need ton start showing signs of the top 6 team that I believe they should be. If they want to achieve this, they need to win games like this, no disrespect to Leeds at all I still think it will be a tough game.

Schoey

Charlton vs Southampton (BIG BET) - Home
Southampton have been massively underperforming this season. Yes, they have had somewhat of a new manager bounce, but they haven’t had tough opposition. Charlton are full of confidence and have averaged 2 points per home game this season. They also haven’t lost at home in their last 5 home games, winning 3 and drawing 2.

Derby vs Watford - Home
Well this is something I really didn’t expect to say at any point this season. But Derby have the best form in the Championship at the moment, 5 wins in 5, whereas Watford continue to have a pretty underwhelming season, currently sat in 15th.

QPR vs Hull - Away
I’ve said multiple times that Hull have impressed me under their transfer ban this season, but I didn’t realise they were 5th in the league! Recent results have been a bit hit and miss, but they are still scoring every game. QPR had their unbeaten patch earlier in the season but that has really seemed to have been flipped on its head. Just 4 points in their last 6 games.

Bolton vs Bradford - Home
This should be a close match, 1 point between them, 3rd vs 4th. I’ll be honest, the main reason I’ve made this pick is recent form. Bolton have 5 wins in 5 in all comps. And Bradford haven’t won in 6 games.

Leeds vs Aston Villa - Away
This seemed like a fairly self explanatory pick. Villa had a tough start to the season, but have really turned it around, and now sit 6th. Whereas Leeds are performing as expected, 11 points through 11 games. They’re lucky that West Ham, Wolves and Forrest have all started terribly, otherwise they would’ve normally been in the relegation zone by now.

Arsenal vs Tottenham - Home
Arsenal have been pretty unstoppable this season. Apart from when they come up against Sunderland of course. Ridiculous. But they have only dropped 2 points at home this season. Spurs do have the best away form in the league, and it is the north London derby so anything can happen. But I can see Spurs coming away from this game with nothing more than a draw at best. Arsenal are just too good.

Will

Charlton vs Southampton (BIG BET) - Home
This is going to be Interim manager Tonda Eckert toughest test, currently winning back to back games with the Saints. But this test against Rob Edward’s Charlton side I think will be too much.

Ipswich vs Wrexham - Home
Two sides in decent form at the moment and will be a tough game. I’m hoping the international break hasn’t disrupted Ipswich form but I think Kieran McKenna is starting to get the ball rolling with Ipswich.

Derby vs Watford - Home
Could be an easy 3pts here, Derby currently on a winning streak with 5 in a row. John Eustace is turning this team in a top 6 challenging side and Carlton Morris is showing the way with 10 goals this season.

Bolton vs Bradford - Home
Well these two are in complete polar opposite form. Bolton have won 5 in a row in all competitions and Bradford hasn’t won a game in the last 5. So no shock here I’m going for a Bolton win.

Leeds vs Aston Villa - Away
Well I had to choose one away win and Villa travelling to Elland Road. Villa are another team that have been quietly building momentum. Morgan Rodger’s is really showing his class and preformed well on international duty last week. Leeds have started to struggle and watching them it’s not they haven’t created chances they just haven’t been able to put them away. There is a massive question mark on Calvert-lewin and is he the man that’s going to score 10-15 goals this season to help keep them up.

Arsenal vs Tottenham - Home
I can only see an Arsenal here. Arsenal in the 5 games at home this season have won 4 and drawn one and have only conceded 1 goal and scored 12. I think it’s going to be tough for Spurs to get anything from this game.
